Farmville………………………………………Jimmy Rogers Worthington, age 87, died Saturday April 6, 2024.
Funeral service will be conducted Wednesday April 10 at 2:00 P.M. at the Farmville Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive friends following the service. A private interment will be held.
Mr. Worthington was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force, was a graduate of Edwards Military Academy, and also had attended ECU. He was well known for his work in Farm Management and as the former President of Edgecombe County Farm Bureau. He was preceded in death by his parents, Durwood and Moye Worthington.
He is survived by his wife, Jessie Ellis Worthington of the home; sister, Sue Taylor and husband, Vance of Greenville; nieces, Leigh Powers and husband, Jonathan, Mary Marshall Greene and husband, Talbot; great-niece, Forbes Greene, great-nephews, Drew Greene and Jonathan Powers; brother-in-law, Rev. Jim Ellis; many Ellis nieces and nephews; aunt, Polly Gilliam; and special cousin, Tyler Durham.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the family, neighbors, and friends for their help, care, and love.
