Jesse Lavon Hobbs Taylor

Farmville……………. Jesse Lavon Hobbs Taylor, age 74, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2024 following a battle with Alzheimer’s and Dementia for several years.

                                    Graveside service will be held on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. at Hollywood Cemetery in Farmville, NC by Rev. Donald Daniels. The family will receive friends at the gravesite following the service.

                                    Lavon was a member of the Farmville Church of God which she attended until her health declined. Lavon grew up and attended Farmville schools. She worked 24 years with Collins & Aikman.  She was the caretaker for her mother during her declining years.  She loved her crafts and also kept a beautiful yard. 

                                    Lavon was preceded in death by her parents, Jesse Hobbs and Agnes Hobbs and a daughter, Norma Lavon Taylor, two brothers-in-law, Donnie Taylor and Andrew Taylor.  

                                    She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Norman Ray Taylor of the home; aunts, Alice Leudesorf (Bill) of Newport and Faye Wainwright of Farmville; sisters-in-law, Margaret Melvin (Jack) of Hope Mills, Debbie Taylor of Farmville, Florence Taylor of Snow Hill; brothers-in-law, George Taylor (Linda) and David Taylor of Farmville; many special nieces and nephews in the Wainwright, Hobbs and Taylor families.
